Membership & Events Strategist

We have an open position for an experienced membership and events professional, starting at 20 hours per week. Qualified candidates are those who possess a minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in a legal environment and have excellent organizational skills. This opportunity may be an extended term engagement with the possibility of full-time / permanent. The position would be based in Kansas City with remote considered.


Professional Requirements for Membership & Events Strategist:

  • Experience working with and around community focused network organizations 
  • Exceptional typing skills, produce communications quickly and accurately, multi-task with excellent attention to detail
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable utilizing and learning about technology. Proficient understanding of widely used PC applications and network management systems, including Microsoft office Suite, Google Suite, and Adobe products, etc. 
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Dependable and organized, with demonstrated professionalism and awareness of time-sensitive issues, attention to detail and a strong work ethic
  • Access to a laptop and high-speed internet
  • Must be a solutions and detailed oriented professional who is willing to research and document processes


Responsibilities of a Team Member: 

  • Maintain the coalitions internal membership software
  • Support Coalition members in recruiting and onboarding of membership  
  • Make and answer telephone calls professionally, answer inquiries, handle requests, take messages, and arrange conference calls
  • Coordinate and provide support for chapter(s) events and recruitment activities
  • Provide support to companies in the MBC pledge program
  • Special projects as assigned


Details of the Engagement:

  • Type of Role: Contract Engagement; potential for permanent full-time
  • Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Schedule: up to 20 hours per week
  • Location: Kansas City, Missouri; Remote considered
  • Compensation & Benefits: Highly competitive and commensurate with experience​; begins at $20 per hour.

MBC Community Writer

We have an open position for an experienced reporter or journalist, starting at 25 hours per week. Qualified candidates are those who possess a minimum of 3+ years of relevant writing, research, and storytelling experience and have excellent organizational skills. This opportunity may be an extended term engagement with the possibility of full-time / permanent. This position is fully remote.


Professional Requirements for Community Writer 

  • Excellent writing and comprehension abilities. 
  • Experience working with and reporting on community related themes and individuals 
  • Exceptional typing skills, produce communications quickly and accurately, multi-task with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable utilizing and learning about technology. Proficient understanding of widely used PC applications and network management systems, including Microsoft office Suite, Google Suite, and Adobe products, etc. 
  • Dependable and organized, with demonstrated professionalism and awareness of time-sensitive issues, attention to detail and a strong work ethic

Responsibilities of a Community Writer 

  • Produce consistent content highlighting the economic and community contributions of MBC Members
  • managing multiple priorities and deadlines 
  • Make and answer telephone calls professionally, answer inquiries, handle requests, take messages, and arrange conference calls relating to developing stories 
  • Contribute to a social media content calendar 


Details of the Engagement:

  • Type of Role: Contract Engagement; potential for permanent full-time
  • Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Schedule: up to 25 hours per week; based on articles submitted 
  • Location: Remote considered
  • Compensation & Benefits: Highly competitive and commensurate with experience​; paid per article.
